Download 1.6 (602 - 612+)​

Styles the chat in a simple and intuitive manner. Allowing you to take full control over how it looks and feels using tags prefixed with + symbol.

Permissions & GroupManager Configuration
Setup your prefix / suffix with colors like so, in your Permissions / GroupManager Configuration:

For this to work, the users name must be exact casing. IE: It's case-sensitive. Google it.

Message Format:
To change how your message is displayed, open iChat/config.yml located under plugins/ and add this line:

You can use colors and the +tags are the variables shown in chat. They are not required so you can add / remove them as you see fit. Move them around, configure it however you wish.

iChat Censoring:
In config.yml there is now a censor-list that holds bad words to be filtered, you can customize the look and feel of the censored word as well by changing the symbol used, as well as coloring it.

It's outdate

 

Something really bad has happened with this plugin, for some reason now, when anybody talks, it will just show a plain white name and text, and will display this error EVERYTIME somebody talks! Help is greatly appreciated and needed.

Which version of Craftbukkit are your running?
Which version of iChat are you running?
Did you check Drakia's post?

Download and install this iChat.jar (more info Here )

This version works for Build CB#440 (which I'm running currently)

 

I'm using the latest recommended CraftBukkit version.
And the version of iChat im using is Drakia's 2.04

 

Are you running other plugins as well, and can you try to switch them all off, then switching them on one by one.
(make a tempfolder, dump em in there, move them one by one back into the plugins folder )
Check if iChat has problems if ran on it's own, so no other plugins loaded. Then start Permissions, then the rest. See if that works.

I get an error when running this iChat. It says that it can't load it in the folder that the .jar is null. What does this mean?

I've gone so far as to uninstall all plugins except Permissions 2.5.1 and the latest iChat yet I still get these errors and colors do not work.

Permissions works with other plugins so I'm pretty sure I don't have YAML error. I have notepad++ with tabs set to spaces.

I really need help. basically i want it so that there is [ADMIN] before my name. how do i do this? what do i have to use for the ichat config and what do i need to put in permissions for preffix and suffix?

 

I use GroupManager, but it should work in Permissions too.

Your group should look like this:

oh i found out the problem it was that i was using ichat and essentialchat so i just deleted essentialchat and its fine. btw, which one are u using, and why? (essentialchat or ichat)

 

Really the only reason I use iChat over Essentials Chat is because iChat does not have the < or > around the name

Alright, kind of a dumb question, but some names are red in chat, some are white. I honestly have no clue why. Here is my iChat folder

You have your iChat suffix ending with the color white just before the +name, this is going to turn the name white.

You probably want to replace it with this:

message-format: '[+prefix+group+suffix] +name: &f+message'
