Agreed. It's very use able. Thanks so much deltahat for shaping this up very nicely.

Is there a way to reload the help.yml without restarting/reloading the server?

No..help depends on registered plugin commands which can only be reliably updated with a /reload.

Essentials plugin overrides this help, even if you tell essentials to disable the help command :(. Disabling just makes it so there's no output when doing /help.

I'm getting around it currently using command helper and aliasing /help to /?.

I thought /? was aliased to /help by default...?

Sorry, I got that backwards. I aliased /help to /?.

Essentials has its own /help command. Any essentials command will give priority to other plugins if they have the same command, so that there is no conflict. But this is not happening with bukkit help.

I'm not running the latest essentials, so maybe this has been fixed. However I didn't see anything about it in the latest Essentials changelog. I'm just posting here about this so that no one else gets confused and spends a 1/2 hour trying to figure out why the help in the console looks different than the help in game.

Oh, so the bukkit.yml alias overrides the Essentials /help command. Clever! ;)

Bukkit help is implemented as a fallback command. It will only be invoked if NO other plugin registers /help. Additionally, fallback commands do not show up as registered commands to prevent conflicts.

may I say that this is the most constructive thread I have seen since a long time discussion how to make bukkit better? Also the most work done of a developer to explain what he did and how to use it.

    THANKS!
