I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

I am having some serious trouble and I really need help. I got LogBlock working with MySQL and all the tables show up, but when I try to enter commands, like /lb help or /lb tool literally nothing happens. No error or warning or anything. Just nothing. Can someone please help me?

I know you are coming to a stop from this great production, but I do have a semi-serious life threatening bug.

It seems that anyone can check logs and use commands. I never had this issue before and I'm using PEX.

The /yes command won't work for me, I think I still have the 1.8.1 LogBlockQuestioner.jar, is there a dev build of that?

I also need an updated LogBlockQuestioner. The version I have is 0.02. I'm not entirely sure, but at some time I did download the the LogBlock 1.5 package, so I should have that version of LBQ.

Promise me you will never stop updating LogBlock until the day you die, LogBlock is the only thing that saves my server, since I seem to have a grefing team (not Avocado) on my server, and if you dont update, I will have to go to HawkEye, and that allways seems to crash every server. PLEASE!

I have connected my Logblock to db4free.net, and it shows it successfully connecting and creating world log files when it first connected, but there is no logging being done... All the /lb commands work fine, it acts like it's connected and logging, but whenever i use a wooden pickaxe, it just breaks the blocks and does nothing. I have restarted my server since it first connected. Help please?!

    /lb redo <params>
    or, right after:
    /lb redo last
Do you have tool permissions, or set the tool to a different item?
    /lb permissions
    https://github.com/DiddiZ/LogBlockQuestioner/downloads
    Total seconds

All world ... this one was always difficult, due to the different tables. Rollback would work, but lookup is more difficult, and I'm strictly against a param that you can rollback but not view before.

Diddiz, thanks for your help but when I do /lb permissions, it showsw me having all of them, like /lb.lookup,tp,me,rollback,clearlog,tools.toolblock

    It that a comma or a dot? If it's a dot you're lacking logblock.tools.tool.

  13. Offline

    iNubb

It is a dot. I tried doing /pex group admin add logblock.tools.tool and restarted the server, but it's still not working. But it also does NOT say that its one of my permissions. When I do /lb permissions I still get the same list of permissions. (admin is the group name) Thanks for your help, i really appreciate it. Oh, and sorry for not quoting you, im not entirely sure how I quote others. Thankss!

    Hi,

i love your plugin but, since I changed my world and updated to 1.2.3 [DEV] and your plugin [DEV] ,too, it does not work anymore. It says: No DATABASE CONNECTED, but It worked fine, before I changed the world. WHY? And the database is allright.

    Plese help me

    Greylocke

flymia it is possible that your config got set back to default. Revisit the settings and make sure that they are correct for your server. If they look correct, try using those settings in a SQL session and see if it produces an error.

Nothing seems to be logging, it just says no results found, and when trying to rollback, it aborts. Also, what is the queue? Is there a way to clear it if it gets too high?

    DoctorXela

What do you mean by "doesn't do anything"? Does it not connect to the database? Does it not log to the database?

  24. No when i do "/lb" it doesnt do anything. my MYsql database works so yea. I dont think it connects to the database.

I'm running the exact same thing, SQL is working fine. I get this error, though.
    Code:
    2012-03-24 11:36:20 [SEVERE] [LogBlock Consumer] SQ exception on INSERT INTO `lb-world` (date, playerid, replaced, type, data, x, y, z) VALUES (FROM_UNIXTIME(1332614168), 3, 0, 3, 0, '100070', 64, '100137');:

And its working fine here.. using CB 2116 and Logblock build 110.

Only thing I wish I had, or maybe I'm missing something... is that it needs to have location coords in the logfile. Very time consuming to pick out griefers if have to look at various logs and match them up. Would be nice to have it all in the same file so we can just tp to each location quickly, rather than just the location of the last block change. When there are multiple places, its not sufficient.

    Otherwise, works great!

    /lb logging
    /lb savequeue

    https://github.com/DiddiZ/LogBlock/wiki/FAQ
    Add "coords" to the command

    Check server.log
You cut off the interesting part :D
