my mob spawner only spawns when im right next to it

    i'm using a mob spawner for my mob thingy and the spawner only works if i'm right next to it
    does anyone know how to fix this

    Do you have any plugins affecting spawner behavior? Normally mobs will spawn as long as you are close enough that the chunk is loaded.

    i have a plugin called
    throttlemobspawning
    but all it does is change how many mobs spawn in x number of minutes and its set to 1000 every minute

    is it possible to change that radius
    through configs or something
