It won't let me run the server because my ip isn't working!

when I enter the IP on the minecraft server properties file, when I try and run the .bat file, It says:

****FAILED TO BIND PORT!​

I'm not sure what is going on right now, but I would really appreciate it if someone could help me! My entire school's minecraft community wants to use this server, so please, help as soon as you can!​

Note: I am using uTorrent, as there are some glitches with my portforwarding. Don't ask what they are, I don't know.

 

Are you positive you properly forwarded your port? http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
If yes, then the Failed to Bind To Port, would most likely imply another program is already using that port. Otherwise, I am not sure what could be the problem.

 

go to task manager>processes> and look for any Java.exe that's the server running, end all of the java.exe processes, and start your server back up.
