    _______

WorldEdit is an in-game map editor that is useful for both:
    • Creative: Build super structures you've only previously dreamed up in days instead of months. Build from far away with Minecraft's most powerful brushes. Copy, paste, and repeat structures with ease! Generate spheres and cylinders. Write useful build scripts in JavaScript!
    • Survival: Remove a griefer's lava, rollback to previous versions of the world, build a NPC village for your server, regenerate chunks, fix broken pools of water, move buildings -- fix problems quickly and easily! Administrate your server efficiently.
Play single player? There is also a single player version.

Some of the things that WorldEdit can do include:
    • Build far away with WorldEdit's original brush tools
    • Mine instantly with the super pickaxe
    • Use your compass to quickly teleport to areas by left clicking or using /jumpto
    • Replace a giant area with a block of your choice
    • Choose an area and have it instantly restored from backups
    • Level an entire mountain and replace it with natural looking terrain (with brush tools)
    • Smooth an entire mountain quickly
    • Generate spheres, cylinders, cuboids, forests, pumpkin patches, and snowy areas
    • Copy areas, paste them, load them, and save them (compatible with MCedit)
    • Kill mobs, nearby or across the world, and remove entities (arrows, items, etc.)
    • Find out which chunks were in a region, look up your current chunk
    • Count the statistical variation of blocks inside an area
    • Ascend through ceilings, pass through walls
    • Tie in with WorldGuard to protect areas
    • Make everything you do that's repetitive not repetitive

    -Problem: config.yml--- doesn't exist.

I'm sorry, I've followed the instruction on how to install World Edit and searched the internet but my config.yml which the guide says was supposed to have generated when I started World Edit for the first time never generated even though I've tried to restart many times.

-Is the config.yml necessary to use World Edit stably?

For some reason, automatic creation of this file doesn't work. You can extract the default one from jar (it is just a zip with different extension) or grab this one (just unzip).

the installation for the clientside mod is really confusing, i thought it would just come in a jar file that i can drop into my plugins folder o.o

What the hell are you doing, trying to put it into your server?
Read up on how clientside mods work.

Go to Minecraft's directory. (%AppData%/.minecraft/). Go to the BIN folder. Open Minecraft.jar in a program that can handle archives (I'd recommend WinRAR, especially that buggy version that nags you that you have a trial period of 40 days, but never expires. No, I won't tell you where to get it). Drag all the stuff in the WorldEdit clientside mod into the archive program, overwriting as necessary (if it doesn't ask you to overwrite, you're doing it wrong). Delete the META-INF folder in there (mods fail if this folder is present. It will regenerate on next run, but it doesn't matter after that point.), and get out. Run Minecraft as you normally would.

The link I provided is much clearer than this. Please read it.

@sk89q It would be cool if there could be a function so you know the middle of something. Like you have 50 blocks, block 25 will be red. So you know what is the center. Would be awesome, because //count is alot of work.

I'm getting this error whenever I start my server and any worldedit commands I use, it tells me there is an internal error. This is the error:

[SEVERE] Error occurred while enabling WorldEdit v4.7 (Is it up to date?): java.lang.String.isEmpty()Z

I believe I currently have everything updated, I'm running on a mac and the only other plugin I'm using is Permissionsbukkit. Anyone have suggestions?

As in muliplayer for the permission nodes:
    - Is it possible to type in "worldedit.*" if I wanted all the permission nodes in one group?

Using GroupManager, Seperate worlds, seperate groups, seperate permissions... yet if a player is given perm in say.. 'World1' and NOT in 'World2', when they go to 'World2' they still have permmission to use it.. All other plugins respond to the fact that they have changed world and that the perms have changed.. but not W.E
