THIS IS NOT AN UPDATE FOR MINECRAFT RELEASED IN OCT 2013

    Show Spoiler

    Update - July 1, 2011 at 3:01PM EST:
Minecraft 1.7.2 contains a dupe exploit that will ruin your economy or could create other issues. We strongly recommend waiting for a fix from either Mojang or ourselves before updating.

    ---------------------------------------------------------

We're pleased to announce our fastest update ever, and we've just made our 1.7.2 compatible build of CraftBukkit available to download as a recommended build here.

For those who are interested, we had a 1.7 update ready for testing within 15 minutes of 1.7 being launched. That's compared to hours or even days we usually take! 1.7.1 was ready within 10 minutes, and 1.7.2 was ready in just under 10.

We'd like to thank you all for helping us test these out, and rest assured we're trying everything we can to make these even faster for the future!

The server crashes as soon as anyone tries to do something. This has been like this ever since I tested the new, non-recommended build. I even just now tried the recommended build, still crashing.

Open up your server.properties, lower view-range to less than 15. This is a minecraft thing, not bukkit.

    Crashes how?

    try

in server.properties change "view-distance" to a lower value. I think the default is 10

Im running with about 13 plugins on 1.7.2 with latest RB, no errors, exactly the same memory usage as with 1.6.6 and 1.5

I also went onto Notch's blog and twitter and there is no chatter about 1.7.3 anywhere. I see chatter about some crash logs, but nothing serious. Where are you getting your facts on 1.7.3?

I also see on Bukkit alot of Noobs complaining about their plugins crashing completely forgetting that the plugins have to be updated.

I just think it was freaking awesome and amazing how quickly they did a RB and update. Very thankful to them.

That's what I would like to know, would we be ok if we just didn't have an Economy plugin installed?

I just have some people on my server who "accidently upgraded to 1.7" or were not given a choice and auto upgraded, and they are itching to play.

If that's the case the dupe could be considered non-existant, 'cuz no one can prove it exists. =P

Tell your players to downgrade by downloading to 1.6 which I will post on my mobile me later so they can download it and replace the mine craft.jar with the 1.6 mine craft.jar

On the wiki minecraft are new bugs in 1.7.2. This means that there are new updates to fix them. As it was with a 1.6 version of the game.

    http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Version_history

    New Bugs:
    • When the player opens the inventory while sleeping, the player appears sideways. (When the prior bug was pointing from the camera)
    • Sometimes, redstone connected directly to redstone will not power the remaining redstone, even when it has not gone the 15 blocks.

Every single version has bugs because its beta. Every version lists bugs. He didnt keep putting out new versions for each bug.

Notch current chatter is fix on 1.8. My only concern is your comments are misleading and Bukkit guys blew us all away because of their speed. Which Im thankful for. And at this current time there is no evidence of show stopping bugs. I do hope the other plugin develops dont hold out for a fix that is not even mentioned any where.

I apologize for that, I did not want to confuse someone else, if Notch all remaining bugs correct in version 1.8, then what is the point at all 1.7?
