Hi, I'm hoping someone will be able to give me some simple advice. I have read thread after thread about using signs in essentials to sell & buy items and I'm totally confused. I have Essentials 2.9.1 running and I can create a 'buy' sign. The text goes blue so I know the sign is correct. However, when I right click on the sign I'm just informed as to the owner, I don;t get the message to say I've bought the item. I have read about permissions but once again this confuses me as I've read conflicting information. Lastly, the config.yml file in the essentials folder doesn't seem to have any formatting. It's just one long line of text. Should be this viewed/modified in notepad or should I be using something else. Thank you. Paul (PaJR007)
Open the config in Wordpad or Notepad++ Check that you have removed the '#' infront of the enabled signs 'buy' & 'sell' Check you have put the correct permission nodes in: essentials.signs.use.sell essentials.signs.use.buy (For full command and permission listing go here: http://ess.khhq.net/wiki/Command_Reference)
Harry8550, thanks for the quick reply. I have removed the # from the enabled signs. Where do I check/put the permission nodes?
Thanks again. I'm new to this so I'm trying to pick it up fast. I think the reason is now becoming clear. I don't have permissions installed. I assumed it was part of essentials. Can you recommend a permissions plugin.
A Little Help For me... My Friend can use the signs but I Can He says when he right clicks it just does nothing (A warp sign with heading [Warp] he couldnt use
For future problems see: http://ess.khhq.net/wiki/Command_Reference/Perm as it has every single permission that essentials has in it. add the permissions for buying and selling. Here they are: Buy: essentials.signs.use.buy Sell: essentials.signs.use.buy
