Hey guys, I was wondering what you think is the best permissions plugin, so comment if your favorite is not on the poll. Oh, and if I posted this in the wrong place, sorry, I'm new to the forums.
  2. Yeah you posted in wrong section this is for bukkit help not Bukkit Discussion

  4. To be honest there really aren't any winners, their all good in their own way. Its kinda like saying if Chrome or Firefox is better.

    Agree with Mystery
  6. Cleaned this thread up. This is about permissions, not your web browser.

  8. Made me want to try to switch to bperms, but then I was like ehh... pex still works fine for me and I am not going to fix something that isn't broken for me. Pretty persuasive though :p

Get any "read timed out" issues lately? Those could be caused by a hilarious PEX issue! Have any plugins not sending messages you think they should? Probably PEX! Hurray crashes and missing messages!

  10. I originally got so frustrated with PEX that I converted to bPermissions -- Besides the fact that permissions-based messages didn't work, I could never /reload the server without breaking a dozen plugins.

Luckily, converting to bPerms was the easiest thing I've ever done, and I've stuck with it ever since.

I started on pex and just haven't gone away from it. I have all my pex files (3) set up and I don't like writing permissions files.

I have no issues with it or any other plugins on my servers :p
  12. Exactly why there is a /permissions import pex command :3
  13. PermissionsBukkit is the best permissions plugin.

It doesn't have awkward turtles like PEX, and it's lightweight and bare bones, so it's faster than bPermissions.

  18. Get the names right. It's not essentials permissions. It's GroupManager!

    Deal with it.

or you should learn the names of the plugins you use?

  21. I prefer PermissionsBukkit because of its simplicity, it does everything a permissions plugin should do.

I did use PEX for a long time but since 1.4.6 I went to group manager and after a bit of a learning curve, I believe it is the better one for me. I like switching worlds and group manager lets me do so very effectively with little work after it is initially set.

Ahh, but I don't use it.

    Chrome is obviously better. :)

    1. We already had a massive conversation about this that got deleted by admins.
    2. Firefox. Less intensive - what can I say?

  27. I once chose PEX because it looked "best" and allowed to use plugins that were bound to an older permissions plugin. Then i kept it because it was allowing for per player data saving (with database use) and also seemed to perform well in general. The group setup is pretty flexible. (Example inheritance: The group carrying the permissions for a feature like warping can be setup without world reference, then i can let another group inherit from this group just for certain worlds.)
