Hi, is it right to sell game money for cosmetics only and use it to create guild? I know EULA alows me to sell cosmetics but I don't know if I can stick guild as cosmetic. On server guild would be only a title and plot for small guild house only accessed by guild members. It would not give something special like items also players should be able to convert money from minigames to guild coins. And if I can't do something like this plese sugest me something alternative. Sorry for my english if something is hard to understand.

  2. @men8 Sounds like "areas only paying members can access" which is against the EULA.

@AdamQpzm Hmmm, so maybe give posibility to every player to create guild and give cosmetics for real cash like banners, hats and visibility guild tag in chat? Any sugestions what else can i add?

  4. @men8 I don't run any servers myself right now so wouldn't really know. But yeah, only cosmetic things would be allowed.

You've got good English. :) For something on-topic, as long as guilds don't give players any coin multipliers or give any boosts that players wouldn't have without a guild, it's fine to sell for real money.

You may not restrict acess to an ingame area but if i remember correctly The EULA Q's and A's states taht you may charge a player to enter the server. BUT you have to check it out since i am not sure about it. Lastly what a known big gerver does is have premium lobbys and allow donnors to join full servers and kick another member out (that i find extremely anoying but...)

@mine-care I don't know where but I' ve read that if you want to create premium lobby full server should be premium includin all servers connected with bungeecoord. So to sum up can I create guild plugin for real cash which can be also gain through game (I mean cash only for cosmetics). If player has specific amount of this cosmetic cash can create a guild and gain plot. Also for this cash creator can increase guild slots. For normal poits whitch players can gain from playing minigames like on hypixel (They have something like this but I play on this serer only few times) Those buildings only affect on guild points and not giving any buffs or better stuff in other games but can unlock some cosmetics in them. Also this guild plugin should make guild wars if they want but all equipement will be gain from those building so now I don't know what to think about it because idea is good and I don't know if it's right with EULA? If anything from my post is against EULA please let me know because it's really important and if not I really don't know anything else I can sell to make money from server. All legal things I can sell are hats, all server time buffs, perm ranks not giving anything special but colored nick or something like that, pets, partical effects, and lobby effects like flying or something like that and full server slot.

@bwfcwalshy darn my ad :/ usual it is Auto correct (da.n you auto correct) but that message was typed by my pc so o excuse.. XD

@men8 jeep that's pretty much it. I wonder why mojang isn't doing anything to big servers btw that clearly violate the EULA without any attempt to hide it. Anyway that leads Offtopic.
You may also add cosmetic fireworks that only donors can access like fireworks being displayed by them :) I did that to me server.
    Good luck

@mine-care Meh, so I think this topic is close now :( I will create this guilds but think about something else to make money :p And thanks guys for response :)

  11. @men8 At its very basic you want to view it like this: Does this player giving me money change the game that they're playing, regardless of whether it can be earned by playing or not. If the answer's yes, then it's against the EULA. Things like cosmetic effect don't really change a game, having bigger plots or whatever do.

@mine-care Most likely because they don't really care, can't be bothered, isn't worth their time, or a combination of any of those.

@AdamQpzm But that makes it worse for mojang. It is like they set a goal that where unable to achive, It only made most of the smaller servers suffer since they try to stay between the borders of the EULA and not violate anything but they are outruled by the huge servers that would not give a f. about those borders, so players who are willing to pay-to-win will prefer those comunities. Ofc. i understand that hey have huge costs to cover and i perfectly understand this but i think that can be achieved by the cosmetic stuff.

Other servers of such 'capacity' have found a way through EULA by unlocking the donator box (that is indeed cosmetic change) and then from that 'box' you can perform non cosmetic changes, for example you may summon mobs, get weapons armor and so on. that on the one hand is a cosmetic change (to give an object with no ingame effect) but its also non cosmetic change since that box acts like a medium between the donations and the ingame effect.

    Thanks :- D

  13. This is what Mojang does. The modding API will be out soon, "Minecon ticket sales will be in February, exact details in the next two weeks" and so on...

Personally I go under the assumption that Mojang don't really care all that much about server owners.

This really isn't a way around the EULA. It's just making their rule breaking activities more obscure.

If you take them at face value and assume what they've said is true, then the reason that Mojang have made all this EULA attention stuff is because parents were complaining that kids were spending ridiculous amounts of money on servers. Now, if Mojang get complained at they can just point to the posts and be like "well, we tried", even if they don't take any action at all. I don't care either way, I don't approve of all the monetisation that goes on in games nowadays anyway.
