1: I asked this before, but didn't get a sure answer. If I rename the world in my server.properties to one I have already created, will it reseed that world? 2: I'm trying to clean out my files, and I'm not sure what some of the files are: .bash_history .bash_logout .bash_profile .bashrc hs_err_pid11876.log level.dat_old (Do I need it?) server.log.1 server.log.2 server.log.lck (What is the difference between these and the regular server.log?) uid.dat wepif.yml y (Yes it's just called y) I have an idea what some are but need to know which ones are safe to delete/clear
By default it doesn't do that but your hoster can always set such things up. So better make a backup and try it. .bash_history .bash_logout .bash_profile .bashrc Linux files, you have to ask your hoster if they need those. hs_err_pid11876.log Error log of a crash, can be deleted. level.dat_old (Do I need it?) If its in a world folder then I wouldn't remove it. If its in the server root dir (near bukkit.yml and such) then you can delete it because its useless in this place. server.log.1 server.log.2 Can be deleted (just logs) server.log.lck (What is the difference between these and the regular server.log?) If your server is currently running then this file will be there but if you shutdown your server then it should disappear. Its something with java logging (maybe a developer knows more about it. uid.dat Some sort of "protection/verification" of a map. Can be deleted if not needed but I would let it there, who knows if you need it. copy: If its in the server root dir (near bukkit.yml and such) then you can delete it because its useless in this place. wepif.yml WorldEdit config stuff. If you delete it then WorldEdit will just generate a new one. y (Yes it's just called y) No idea. Looks like someone failed at creating a file here. As far as I know there isn't any plugin that creates this file.
